Colors, Wedding Theme, Flowers and Centerpieces

Choosing your colors, theme, flowers and centerpieces for your wedding are very important. Your creating the ambiance and atmosphere  for your guests. The Colors must blend with the theme. The theme you choose will help you decide on which flowers to select, and the flowers will help you narrow down what type of centerpieces will work for your reception. Your options are limitless, let's explore some of them.

Colors & Wedding Themes

If your wedding is on the beach, then you might want to go with a beach theme. If purple is your favorite color, and you love polka dots. Then you may want to have a polka dot theme in shades of purple. If Fall is your favorite season, then a fall theme, with harvest colors would work for you. When I meet with my bride if she hasn't decided on her colors and theme, then I ask her a few questions like, what is your favorite season? What is your favorite color? What is your style? Are you modern, classic, boho/hippie, or simplistic? Knowing these things will assist me in narrowing down the colors and themes to review with my bride. If my bride loves the beach and her favorite color is blue then I would show her the theme and colors  below.

Centerpieces

For the same wedding I would show my bride a centerpiece like the one shown above. There's really no set rule for centerpices. As the bride & groom you decide how big is too big and how extravagant you want your special day to be. There are many styles, colors, and design options for centerpieces. I had a bride that met her hubby to be at Starbucks, so we filled huge vases with ground coffee beans and beautiful red roses as the centerpiece flower. Not only was it beautiful and unique, but the aroma from the ground coffee was amazing. I could go on and on about different types of centerpiece options but I'd much rather show you. You can change some of these options and make them your own, or you can be creative and design your centerpiece yourself.

Autumn/Harvest wedding.

A beautiful reception with candlelight as the main focus. Box centerpices with flowers and candles. Candles are a great and inexpensive way to create ambiance.

Small rectangular shaped vases filled with glass beads, and roses in assorted colors. To personalize the centerpieces the bride and groom had the vases engraved with their last inital.

Gerber daises in pastel colors, inside a vase filled with pastel jelly beans. Perfect for a spring/easter wedding.

These are just a few ideas. Remember you make the rules. Have fun and be creative. The sky is the limit!
